When You Can’t Find Joy in the Holidays

The holiday season can be a lonely, hard time for those of us who have particularly hard circumstances. Perhaps you have lost a loved one with whom you used to spend the holidays. Or maybe, like me, you live with chronic pain, and each day is hard beyond belief. Or perhaps your little ones are grown and the house is now empty on Christmas day. All of the these things can make the holiday season particularly hard to bear.

  1. This blog really touched my heart this morning, as pain and headache once again rob my sleep. I was really struggling with why, what’s the purpose in this on-going battle with chronic Lyme Disease. The quote from ‘Choose Joy’ really challenged me to keep on looking for the rainbows in the rain. And esp the part of knowing if He didn’t have a purpose, He would have already removed the struggle! Thanks for posting!
